Freddy Noppe's Page

I'm freddy Noppe, living in Boezinge-Ieper, 65 years young.

My Father, Honoré Noppe, was born in Gullegem on May 11th 1890. My father died in 1959 when I was 13. My father emmigrated to the US arriving at Ellis Island NY on April 5th 1911. He was naturalized as an American on June 3th 1918. From june 1918 till januari 1919 he was in France with the US army. He returned definitively to Belgium in 1929. He was an American Legionair for the rest of his life and attended the annual ceremony at Waregem every year.

I'm deperately trying to know more about the time my father was in France. Where was he stationed ? In what devision was he ? Was he in a fighting unit ? Upto now my research wasn't very succesfull :-(
